You are cordially invited to the 13th Annual Hawaii MIDPAC Horticultural Conference to be held September 5th, 2008 at the Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu, on the Island of Oahu.  This year’s MIDPAC conference is being held in partnership with the 2008 Hawaii Agriculture Conference “Growing with Intention,” along with a Poster Exhibit and Trade Show, which are being held on Thursday, September 4th at the Hawaii Convention Center.

Friday brings our MIDPAC Conference as well as sessions on Bioenergy Master Plan: “A Conversation with Hawaii’s Agriculture Sector” and “Growing the Next Generation”, a partnership with Future Farmers of America.

Arrive early and travel to Hilo, on the Big Island of Hawaii, on Tuesday September 2nd for the MIDPAC Open House Nursery Tour, where you can find a wide variety of exotic Hawaii-grown foliage and flowers.  Meet with the growers of these beautiful floricultural specimens.  Visit the nurseries.  Find out why you should “buy Hawaiian.”  Learn how to care for these exotic plants & flowers.

The host hotel for the 2008 Hawaii Agriculture Conference events is the Ala Moana Hotel, which is conveniently located directly across the street from the Hawaii Convention Center.  Special group rates expire on Monday, August 4, 2008.  Contact information is available inside.

The MIDPAC Horticultural Conference is presented by the Hawaii Export Nursery Association (HENA), and is cosponsored by the Hawaii County Department of Research & Development, Hawaii State Department of Agriculture, University of Hawaii at Manoa, College of Tropical Agriculture & Human Resources (CTAHR) and the Hawaii Florists & Shippers Association (HFSA).
